The AV, in plain terms
Nothing derails a first session like ten minutes of adapter hunting. Here is precisely what is here and how it connects.
Projection
A 5.2k projector on the stage, with a wide remote-controlled screen. Two ways in:
- HDMI — the cable is to the right of the stage
- Chrome Cast — install the Cast extension in Chrome and screen-share wirelessly
Sound follows the projector by default, or you can send it to the speakers over Bluetooth instead.
Sound
Gale floorstanding speakers and a JBL, both Bluetooth. Fine for a presentation, music during a break, or a film.
Light
Over twenty app-controlled lights, from daylight to something much warmer. There is a phone by the entrance that runs them — you do not need to install anything. Blackout curtains close across the whole window run when you need the room dark for a screening.
What to bring
A USB-C to HDMI adapter if your laptop is a recent MacBook. That is the only thing that regularly catches people out.
Worth knowing
We are in a residential building. Music at moderate volume with the windows closed is fine; loud bass is not, at any time. If your session ends with a party, tell us when you book so we can talk it through rather than intervening on the night.
