Using the space as a filming location
It gets booked for commercial shoots, interviews, product photography and live streaming, mostly for the daylight and the fact that you can kill it completely.
The room
Double-height, exposed brick on one side, a run of full-height warehouse windows on the other, and over thirty plants already in place. The mezzanine gives you a high angle over the whole floor without rigging anything.
Light control
Blackout curtains close across the entire window run, so you can go from full daylight to a controlled set. Over twenty app-controlled colour lights on top of that.
Load-in
Ground floor, no steps from the street, through the 222 Kingsland Road door. The space is at the end of the corridor. Nothing has to go up stairs.
Exclusive
The building is yours for the day. Nobody walks through the back of a shot, and you are not working around another booking.

Practicalities
Shoes off upstairs — the wooden stairs mark easily. The courtyard is communal and can be used, but no smoking out there. If you are shooting late, the noise rules still apply: we are in a residential building.
