Hiring a space for a private dinner

The oak tables push together into a single long table. That, candles, and an empty building is most of what makes a dinner feel like an occasion rather than a booking.

The number is 24

Up to 24 seated at one table, which is how many covers we hold — glasses, plates, bowls and cutlery. Beyond that you are into separate tables, or bringing extra covers, and the room seats 30 that way.

Food

Bring a caterer, bring a chef, or cook it yourselves. There is no in-house catering, no supplier list and no corkage. The kitchen has gas hobs, an oven, a dishwasher and a serving island that doubles as a demonstration counter.

Light

The smart lighting goes right down, which matters more for a dinner than any other kind of event. Candles on a long table in a double-height warehouse room does a lot of the work.

What people use it for

Supper clubs, birthdays, engagement parties, end-of-project dinners, and the occasional wedding reception that wanted to be a dinner instead.

The practical bits

Exclusive hire, so the building is yours. Music at a sensible volume with windows closed — we have residential neighbours. Rubbish and recycling out to the bin store at the end. Fifteen minutes of grace on the end time before we start charging.
