What affects the price of hiring a venue
We quote rather than publish a rate card, and it is a fair question why. Here is what actually moves the number.
1. The day
A Tuesday in February and a Saturday in December are not the same booking. Weekday daytime is the cheapest thing we do.
2. The hours
A four-hour workshop and a twelve-hour shoot use the building differently. Most quotes are built on hours rather than a flat day rate, which usually works out in your favour if you only need a morning.
3. What you need from us
A room set up a particular way and then left alone costs less than a day where someone is on hand throughout. Tell us which you want.
4. What kind of event it is
Commercial shoots are priced differently from community gatherings, and we are open about that. A charity running a training day and a brand shooting a campaign are not the same booking, and we would rather say so than quote both the same and lose the first one.
5. Whether you are coming back
People who run something monthly get a different number from a one-off. Say so at the enquiry stage.
What to put in your enquiry
Dates, rough hours, how many people, what you are planning, and what you are able to spend. That last one is not a trap — it lets us tell you quickly whether we are in the right range, instead of two emails of circling.
